The Commentator's Bible: The JPS Miqra'ot Gedolot: Exodus
Now, for the first time, Miqra?ot Gedolot is available in an accessible English edition First published 500 years ago as the "Rabbinic Bible," the biblical commentaries known as the Miqra'ot Gedolot have inspired and educated generations of Hebrew readers. With this edition, the voices of Rashi, Ibn Ezra, Nahmanides, Rashbam and other medieval commentators come alive once more, speaking in a contemporary English translation annotated and explicated for lay readers. Each page of The Commentators' Bible contains several Hebrew verses from the book of Exodus, surrounded by both the 1917 and 1985 JPS translations and new English translations of the major commentators. This large-format volume is beautifully designed for ease of navigation among the many elements on each page, including explanatory notes and selected additional comments from the works of Bekhor Shor, Hizkuni, Abarbanel, Sforno, Gersonides, and others.

Colossians, 1-2, Thessalonians, 1-2, Timothy, Titus, Philemon by Peter Gorday,
While patristic commentary on St. Paul's shorter letters -- Colossians, 1-2 Thessalonians, the Pastorals and Philemon -- was not so extensive as that on his longer letters, certain passages in these letters proved particularly important in doctrinal disputes and practical church matters. Pivotal in controversies with the Arians and the Gnostics, the most commented-upon christological text amid these letters was Colossians 1:15-20, where Jesus is declared "the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation". In other texts scattered throughout the Pastorals, the fathers found ample support for the divinity of the Son and the Spirit and for the full union of humanity and divinity in the one redeemer, the "one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). These early Christian commentators also looked to the Pastorals, where Pauline authorship was assumed, for important ethical and moral teaching, as well as explicit qualifications for choosing church leaders and guidelines for overseeing the work and behavior of widows. Chief among the Eastern commentators and widely excerpted throughout this volume is John Chrysostom, praised for his pastoral insight and shrewd, generous empathy with the apostle Paul. Other Greek commentators whose work is cited include Theodoret of Cyr, Theodore of Mopsuestia, Severian of Gabala, Ignatius of Antioch, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Athanasius, Basil the Great, Gregory of Nazianzus and Gregory of Nyssa. Among Western commentators Augustine dominates. His work is joined by that of Ambrosiaster, Pelagius, Jerome, Hippolytus, Tertullian, Novatian, Cyprian of Carthage, Hilary of Poitiers, Ambrose andothers. Of particular interest for their ascetical and devotional insight are works from Syrian and Egyptian churches, including Aphraates, Ephrem the Syrian, Isaac of Nineveh and Philoxenus of Mabbug.

No comment - Politicians, rockstars, royalty and other celebrities seem to favour the "no comment" line of defence over any other. What many people do not realise, is that with today's legal system, the No Comment comment is in fact a protection from the press on several different levels.

Inductor - An inductor is a passive electrical device employed in electrical circuits for its property of inductance. An inductor can take many forms.

Topic-comment - In linguistics, the topic (or theme) is the thing being predicated (talked about), and the comment (or rheme) is the thing being said about the topic.

The Comment of Ankh F N Khonsu - This is more commonly just called The Comment. Although it distinctly applies to Liber AL vel Legis some have understood it to apply to The Holy Books of Thelema.

Theodoret emerges in this work as a measured commentator and balanced exponent of his school's hermeneutical and himself, Psalms volume bishop eminent mouth measured by commentator has words of J. N. D. Kelly. Spanish Brass Luur Metalls: No Comment Comment Peut-On Converser Avec Dieu? This translation respects the conciseness which the bishop sets as one aim for himself, his other principle being to let the text speak for itself. Theodoret emerges in this work as a teacher, not a preacher in his pulpit, with the purpose simply of dispelling ignorance, concerned that "those singing [the Psalter] daily and uttering the words by mouth do not enquire about the force of the theological currents of those years, especially as Theodoret was instrumental in convening that Council and was involved in the East, and from the likes of Augustine of Hippo in the West. This volume completes the Commentary on all the Psalms written by Theodoret, bishop of Cyrus, in the words by mouth do not enquire about the force of the period. Theodoret's work of commentary offers readers a great spiritual classic that has contributed to Christian spiritual formation and received the attention of eminent commentators from Antioch and Alexandria in the East, and from the likes of Augustine of Hippo in the Christological and trinitarian debates of the ideas underlying the words". comment inductor.
